Hi my name's Andy I'm 18 years old and I've had my body pierced a total of 8 times. 3 in my left ear 2 in my right, 1 through my belly button, 1 through my nose and also 1 through my tongue. Out of all these I'll have to say my belly button piercing is my favorite! Anywayz the reason why I built this small homepage is to give first time pierces some information about the three main areas which I've had pierced. Tongue: First of all the tongue is pierced by a bar it is large at first to allow for swelling but will be changed for a more comfortable size after two weeks. After you've had it pierced it's advisable not to try and eat for the first 24 hours. (So have a big meal before you get it done!) During the first two weeks you will have to eat soft liquid food like yoghurt, soup, mashed potatoes as well as ice cream and ice lollies to help reduce the swelling and quicken the healing time. Cleansing is by oral antiseptic, which should be used after every meal and cigarette. (Which is a pain in the ar*s if you smoke 14 a day like me!) During the first two weeks you also can't tongue kiss anyone and it's advisable not to drink alcohol. To many people's surprise getting this done doesn't really hurt but its just the first two weeks that is annoying because of watching everyone else eating solid foods and you can't! Belly Button: When the belly button is pierced it takes 6 weeks to heal. During this time you must clean it with antiseptic three times a day. The piercing is a kind of hoop (see photo) and when cleaning it you must thread it through so that the antiseptic can also get to the inside of the piercing. When cleaning the piercing always remember to wash your hands before you actually touch it. Always beware of pulling and catching of the clothes my advice to you is to wear loose fitting clothes. If you do have to wear trousers or jeans with heavy belts care should be taken to hold the belt away from the piercing. OR ELSE!! Like I said earlier this one is my favorite piercing and I advice people to get this done, male and female! | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| Nose Piercing | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
Nose: The most popular out of the three. It is simply pierced by the same way you pierce your ears with a piercing gun. It is a stud which has no back on it so make sure you don't loose it in the shower like I did!! During the first few days make sure you clean the piercing with antiseptic as well as washing your hands before you touch it. Also you should twist it around every now and again. I'm not really sure about the proper healing time but I found after a week or so that my piercing was ok to be changed. | I hope all this information was helpful and I didn't turn anyone off the idea of getting pierced!
